WHAT IS THIS?

My son came home with this moth larva on Thursday 
He found it outside his friends house a few doors away. I thought it was probably looking for somewhere to pupate/hibernate. However I have given it some Narrow Leaved plantain which it seems to be devouring quite quickly. It is about 30mm in length when fully extended.
I thought it might be Ruby Tiger but I am not sure. Any suggestions or confirmation would be appreciated
