PE Question

How long after mating do PE's start to egg lay and is this the same for all species? If they don't egg lay immediately and then the weather turns really bad, how long can they wait? Or do they just carry on anyway? Or are the eggs just re-absorbed into their bodies or become no longer viable? Does anybody know?
