I was contacted by Richard Roebuck, a Sussex Branch BC member, who reported sighting an early instar Heath Fritillary larva at East Blean Wood on 22nd March 2012. It was approximately 3-4mm long and moving across the ground. Most interestingly it was being completly ignored by the Wood Ants that were swarming around. Two images were supplied.
