Not butterfly related, but saw this video earlier on and thought I'd flag it up for others who have not seen it - Wow, both of the participants in the clip were extremely fortunate to get out of this relatively unscathed :shock: ...

Amazing footage. I thought the bird did well to survive too!

Gripping footage.

I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often. Lammergeiers have been seen perilously close to paragliders in the Alps (by a friend of mine) and they're a rare bird.

I teach a lot of Russians and I recognised a fair few swear words they didn't bleep out!!

That really is a pretty (unintendedly) impressive piece of footage. Pity the guy doesn't know his Himalayan Griffon Vultures from his "eagles" lol. Damn good to see the bird get away clean too.

I have to agree, felt sorry for the vultures forced to share their air space with and being crashed into by great cumbersome 'aviators'
