Any ideas for Boston USA?

Post by Paulcrook »

We are off to Boston shortly and I was wondering if anybody had been there and had any tips for finding butterflies in the area?

Hi Paul,

Follow this link to the Massachusetts Butterfly Club: http://www.naba.org/chapters/nabambc/

I was planning a trip to New England earlier this year (which sadly never transpired) so I contacted Sharon Stichter through that site and got hold of their excellent publication 'The Massachusetts Butterfly Club Guide To Good Butterfly Sites'. Sharon was very helpful and happy to give advice to anyone enthusiastic about seeing butterflies in her state.

It has directions, maps and guides to all the species you might see at 26 prime locations - several which are in and around Boston, and others which are all within reasonable driving distance.

There are some great species to be seen there right into the 'fall'. If you do get a chance for some butterfly-spotting over there please let me know of any good sites you visited and species encountered... I'm still planning to go... but it'll probably be next Spring/Summer now...

cheers, celery :)
