I'm afraid you're unlikely to see any this year now - I haven't seen any reports for a few days. Try the sightings pages for the relevant BC branch websites (the Essex/Cambs one and the Herts/Middx one will certainly have info from earlier in the summer). You can get at these from the Species tab at the top of the UKB homepage, and select "Sightings".

On August 9th I saw a single specimen near the top of Telegraph Hill, Herts (TL117289). but that may be too far west for you.

In eastern Herts, Therfield Heath (TL335400) is usually a good site for them, but I've not been there for a while so no guarantees.

It's getting quite late for Marbled Whites now and their numbers are dropping rapidly, so if you want to see one this year you don't have much time to lose.

Thanks guys, went to Vange Marsh today which is supposed to be a good Essex spot for them but no good..like you said it's probably too late this year.
Lot's of skippers, Gatekeepers, small heath, Whites and a couple of common blues over there but no marbled...next year it is then.

thanks again
