Hey Guys,

This is my first post on the forum. I thought I'd share an image of a large emerald moth that I saw yesterday.

Welcome to the forum. I'm fairly new myself and hope you find it as stimulating as I have!

That's a very nice moth and a good reminder that some moths are at least as beautiful as many butterflies. Your technique of photographing on a window is a good way of showing the underside.

Mike

Hi Mike,

Nice to meet you. I found it really interesting to see the underside of the butterfly in this way, I just wish I had a better quality camera as it was just taken on my phone camera. I am a complete novice at this but I want to go out more looking for butterflies and taking pictures. My girlfriend really dislikes butterflies for some reason as she doesn't like the way they move, so it looks like it might be a hobby I partake alone, haha.

That's a beautiful specimen and very appropriately named.
