Unusual looking High Brown

Amongst the dozens of Fritillaries swooping around me at Alun Valley this afternoon was one that caught my attention due to the depth and extent of its black markings.
I know male HBFs have quite pronounced sex brands, but the black coloration in this one was heavier than I've seen before.
I'm afraid this was the best shot I got because soon after another HBF came along and the pair shot away and I didn't see this individual again.
I have added a shot of a more normally marked male HBF immediately below for comparison.
