Growing your own butterflies

Post by Martin »

Has anyone here any experience of buying exotic pupae and hatching them out? I was thinking about turning a greenhouse into a mini butterfly farm.

I've bred quite a few species in my time. And you might want to look at these threads where I've shared my thoughts:

The big issue, of course, is what to do with any offspring.

Cheers,

Thanks Pete.

To be honest, I hadn't really contemplated native species...far better to see them in the wild. I was thinking exotics, for photographing, I can't be flying to Thailand, South America or Africa every 5 minutes.
