Can anyone identify this hairy caterpillar please, he was found on a branch in Romford and apart from looking like the love child of Dougal and Zebedee of the Magic Roundabout, I have no idea what he will turn into.
Thank you so much

To butterfly meadows, chalk downlands and leafy glades; to summers eternal.

Definitely a Lackey moth - with a "Thomas the Tank Engine" kind of face

Thank you so much. This photograph was taken by a friend of mine on a dog forum of all places. Some of the descriptions of this caterpillar have been hilarious including a similarity to Thomas the Tank Engine lol as well as the lovechild of Dougal and Zebedee of the Magic Roundabout.
Im glad the mystery has been solved and so speedily as well.
Thanks again.
