Spotted this female Speckled Wood in Haugh Wood on Friday. Two things struck me; one was that the pale patches are more pronounced than I'm used to seeing, but in this individual the most striking thing is the absence of some of the hindwing spots along with the small size of those that remain (along with the size of the forewing spot at the apex).

Is this within the range of normal characteristics for SW?
