I shall not allowing the judges to be amused or otherwise by my lack of skill

Had a look at your flickr site. Especially enjoyed the dragonfly shots. The flight shots are great. Dragons are another passion of mine. Hope to film some this year.

Got some flight shots of Downy Emerald and Emperor at Thursley Common in 2009.

Dragons in flight is a real tester as you probably know. They can be so infuriatingly uncooperative!! But brilliant when that one shot in 100 comes good :D

Totally agree Nigel.

I found the Downy Emeralds only perched high up in the pine trees when I was at Thursley, so had to try for flight shots. I think at least 1/2000th of sec for shutter speed though. Got one decent shot but that was enough.

I see that our very own rodosranger (Matt Berry) had an image in the book for last year's competition as I flicked through it in a book shop over christmas. Had never heard of the competition before I saw that book.

Thanks for posting as now maybe I'll have a go at it :)

Maybe there should be a category for the most irritating animated gif image
