I know a few members have been inquiring about Spain recently, so I thought I'd post the draft report from a trip last summer. Currently needs a darn good check and quite a few photos missing, but you'll certainly get the feel!

A very impressive haul of species!

Your Esper's Marbled White (21 June) looks rather more like an Iberian Marbled White to me. Might be worth getting another opinion.

Just the ticket to beat the winter blues.

That one is lachesis, as Roger points out, but I seem to remember someone posting pictures of russiae not so long ago... I think Pete just linked to the wrong piccie. :D

Great list of species with some superb photos Pete.

I'll have a closer look when I'm not at work, including the video.

Switzerland this year and possibly Spain next year after looking at this trip report.

Beautiful pictures... I loved the Lime Hawk Moth especially.
The stampeding cows were scary.

Its good to see others are exploring Northern Spain, I have booked 2 weeks in Cantabria for June, which will be my third holiday in a row to this area, if any of you are thinking of going to the area here are a few tips, Fly to Asturias airport with Easyjet as its much cheaper and the flightimes better than Ryanair to Santander, dont expect a Mediterranean climate, it can be cold and very wet as the pics show, the river rose 20 feet overnight after the most amazing storm, when the sun does shine the area is magical and a walk in the country can be very rewarding experience with Butterflies and day flying Moths everywhere, cant wait for June.
Steve.
