Picos Ringlets

Here are a few of the Ringlets on the wing in June,when we had trip to the Picos . I have put question marks so any help with ID please.

Brilliant! The first two are perfect for Chapman's and the third confirms it - that is not Piedmont but a female Chapman's.

The fourth is Piedmont, as you guessed, and the fifth de Prunner's.

Hi John,

Reviewing the pictures, I actually now think the second one might be Piedmont! I was too hasty. The brilliance of the first picture made me pass over the second and onto the third, with the underside. But in the second picture you can see the spots on the hindwing are pushed right against the outer edge of the orange - a characteristic of Piedmont - and the whole thing looks darker and just different from the first one, which I am sure is Chapman's.

Hi Guy
Thank you for pointing out the position of the hindwing spots on a Piedmont ,this is something I shall look for in the future. Thanks again for your help John
