A lovely suuny and warm early afternoon,Thursday 14th October at Clamerkin NT, Isle of Wight and a male Gatekeeper enjoying the sun and feeding on late fleablane

Wow! Didn't know they could last into October. I don't think I've seen one since the latter part of August.

The Isle Wight does seem to be good place for elderly butterflies, back in the early 1980s I remember seeing good numbers of Chalkhill Blues on Boniface Down well into September,
