D7000 DX-format looks good....
An uprated 16.2MP sensor CMOS and a few uprated features compared to the D300 in terms of the Image-processing engine, etc. They have moved from CF cards to SDformat cards....looks interesting at about £1100 for the body....

Oh Gawd,,, here we go again. Already i can feel my wallet getting lighter,,,, in fact i think it's floating out of my pocket. I've had a D300s for 3 months, and i'm sticking this time. Not even going to think about it. I'm going to give it a 10 year road test.

I wish Nikon would release a modernised version of the old Coolpix 990/995. I've been using the 990 model ever since 2000 (sic!) and it still works (sic sic!). It perfectly suplements my D300+105mm lens for macro work. What I like about it is the swivel mechanism making it possible to easily rotate the lens and LCD while steadily holding the camera with both hands. I wish the new model would have a bit more pixels and a faster autofocus...

And users of OLD Coolpixes here?

I see that this new Nikon D7000 is aimed at the enthusiast, and is placed between the D90 and the D300. So i wont be investing this time,,,, i'm out.
