Another Blue question

The following images are video grabs of a female Blue taken at Mill Hill on 14th August.

Ground colour was a powdery brown and no real blue around lunules made me think Chalkhill Blue but condition was good compared to all other Chalkhill Blues which were very worn. All Adonis Blues were in good condition on the day.

Any help with ID would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks

Paul

Hi Paul,

I would say Adonis. I can see hints of blue around the marginal lunules on the hindwing, which should be white for Chalkhill.

Cheers

Lee

...I would go with that Lee; not a CHB jizz and the markings on hindwing do look as you describe... :)

Thanks guys. It fits with the fact that any CHB's on the day were extremely tatty and looking closely there does appear to be a small amount of blue showing.

Thanks again.
