This weird caterpillar thing..

I apologise for the bad quality of the video, it was taken on my phone. From the video, the caterpillar is question was a bright orange with what looks like black stripes on the sides with white dots. It also had hairs all over it. I picked it up on a twig to move it to some vegetation and out of sight of curious children, the little dude kinda dangled off on a piece of silk or something. Caterpillars and the like aren't really my speciality so I turn to you guys to help me identify my mystery beast.
I took the video on the Isle of White, can't exactly remember where..
