Post by sunny »

Took photo of (sorry have tried to up load...?) a fritillary in my back garden on Sunday 25 July. This is the first time I recall seeing any fritillary (yea I know, another planet)far less see one in my garden.Discription...Bottom half Brown...Top half Orange/red wings with black border running round the wings,8 black smudges on each wing (top half).
Woud like to know whether it's common/habitat and anything else, please.

Hi Fred - there are several candidate species, so we really need to see that photo!

You can either upload using the "Upload Attachments" tab when you post, or just email the image to me at pete@ukbutterflies.co.uk and I will!

Cheers,

- Pete
