Lulworth

Post by Trev Sawyer »

With the news that Silver Spotted Skippers are early and look set to have a good year, what news of Lulworth Skippers I wonder?..
I will be in Dorset next week and wonder if the little guys will be getting past their best or if new ones are still appearing in numbers? Not too sure how to get an attractive photo of one yet, but that will be part of the quest. Maybe an early morning task, but we will see.

Trev,

They are easy to photograph in the car park of Corfe Castle. There is an obvious set of steps up the bank, they are easily found on this bank and on the top of the steps.

Good Hunting

Hi Trev,

Just seen on the Durlston website that they have been seen today. It is always a favourite place of ours to visit.

Good luck

Thanks for that info. I am sure we will see plenty down there, but I noted that the first sighting this year was way back on 4th June(!), so am hoping the numbers are still being topped up with a few newly emerged ones?
Cheers,
Trev
