Hi all
I'm hoping to devote a day next month looking for Brown Hairstreak, preferably locally in the Midlands
My research so far has identified a number of possible sites e.g. Whitecross Green Wood but I would welcome contributions from regular BH observers on the most reliable sites I should be considering
Any up to date info with on-site directions to BH hotspots would be much appreciated! Please post here or send me a PM. Many thanks
Best wishes

I've always gone to Grafton Wood for Brown Hairstreaks - once you find the wood reserve they're either alongside the rides or at the edges of the wood. I don't know if it counts as a site near to yourself or not! It's just before Flyford in-between Upton Snodsbury and Kington. Reference from the UKButterflies species area site is SO963557 (not sure that's quite on the Grafton Wood in the map), but I would say that to get to the wood you need to park at the Flyford Arms Pub (WR7 4DA - put that into google maps) that's on the A422 just before the Old Hill road to Flyford, then you need to cross the A422 road, go over the stile and walk across the field and turn left across another field to get to the entrance to Grafton Wood (maybe someone knows a better parking spot?). If you park in the Pub car park I suggest you buy something there to make you feel like you can park there...

Thanks to everyone for the contributions. Looks like things are finally starting to hot up
I was wondering whether there was anywhere I could track sightings specifically at Whitecross and similar as the BC Upper Thames Branch site is still showing last Thursday ...and then I keep coming back to this resource which knocks the spots off everything else I have seen on the web!
