Caterpillar for ID.

Hi folks,
I found this handsom chap hidden amongst the reeds and moved him to this spot for the photo......and returned him to the reeds afterwards
It was about 2 1/2 to 3 inches long at full stretch and beautifuly marked i think.
Any idea what it might be?
