Butterfly for i/d please. Is this a Large Skipper emerging?

Certainly a male Large Skipper, but looking at the insect's posture and wings I would gamble that it's wings are now 'dry' and shall not expand further than this. It is essentially crippled.

Thanks Pete and Felix. I did take photos over a half hour period and it never moved though it was alive.

Hi Eddie,
In which case it is certainly deformed. Inflation of the wings takes but a few minutes from emergence. If it was still in this state after half an hour then the wings are not going to get any larger.
Poor little chap..!
