small yellow butterfly - any ideas?

Hi to all,
just rescued a visitor in the kitchen and was hoping someone could help me identify - couldn't spot him on the big ID page with all the photos. Bright warm yellow colour on inner and outer, quite small (about half the length of my thumb) with red/orange at only a couple of points on the very tips of the wings (coming from the outer edges pointing in, I think they were v-shaped.

I didn't get a better look as it took me by surprise and I didn't want to keep it stuck in a glass for more than a few seconds!

any thoughts? Thanks in advance!!
Lucy

Sounds like a Brimstone moth to me, they're pretty little things.
