White with Orange Edges

Hi, I am not an avid butterfly collector, but do like to know about all the wildlife in my garden.
Location West Sussex, saw a lovely white butterfly, not Orange tip, have seen loads of images on line for this, but it had orange/gold edges.
The orange colour ran the full length of each wings edge about 1cm wide.
Can anyone help identify please.

HI
The lack of responses is probably because we are all stumped!
UK resident butterfly species which are White AND have Orange on their wings can be numbered one only - and that is the Orange Tip! So, we are left with aberrations of the Orange Tip (possible), a non-UK species that has escaped or been released (A Delias of some sort??) or a moth....
Anyone else with any ideas?
Sorry, that's about as good as it gets without any other info... :?

I have to admit I assumed it was an orange tip, because bozbennet mentioned online pictures, implying he or she wasn't familiar with orange tips in the flesh. If it definitely wasn't an orange tip then I'm stumped too.

Thank you gentlemen for your responses and I apologise for the lack of detail. I was just struck with its beauty and the fact that it did seem quite unusual to me.
The bush that it was resting on has been well eaten and I will find out from my wife what type it is as she is the gardening expert.
This may help to identify, but now that I know what the orange tip looks like if I see it again I should be able to illiminate or confirm.
Once again thanks
Boz

Boz,

I think it could have been an Orange Tip viewed from an odd angle perhaps. They can look a bit strange when they have their wings half open like this.....

......I took this today to show you what I mean.

Hope this helps,
