Hi, Presume you mean Wigg Island near Runcorn, Cheshire? This is the only place I regularly see WL Hairstreak and first saw them there this year about a fortnight ago? They are all around, wherever there are elms, and there are a lot of elms. Best place is park in the main car park walk toward the river then right. Walk past the first open area on your right and then turn right to what is a fenced in car park. Basically around here and you can't fail. You may have to wait quite a while and it can give you a crick in the neck as I've only ever once had one come down to below tree top height here - certainly not the place for photos. Hope this helps.
