Sorry I'm a day late,

Please note that, over the winter, various "themes" will be given for the competition. You may choose any photo you have so long as it's relevant to the theme (and is not restricted to photos taken during the month in question)! January theme is "Photoshop".

This can be anything from a simple digitally enhanced image, to a masterpiece of graphic art, as long as it has a butterfly theme, just use your imagination and have fun.

To enter the competition, please post a single image (1 post per member) as follows:

- Click on the "Gallery" link and then open the "January 2010" album
- Click the "NEWIMAGE" button
- Follow the instructions to upload a single image

To view the entries:

- Click on the "Gallery" link and then open the "January 2010" album

You'll be able to edit or delete your entry until 5th February. To do this:

- Select the "Moderate" link at the bottom of the image details
- Take the appropriate action

You will be unable to rate or comment on the image until the competition has been voted on. Comments and constructive critique are very welcome thereafter.

Look forward to seeing the entries roll in , good luck !

Regards Gruditch

cheers pete and gary!

it was good to see that some of the participants in the photo competitions on uk butt's like to and are able to express a degree of extra creativity that is capable with the various manipulative software's available today.
hope that it might promp or encourage others to explore what can be a very satisfying diversion in their photography and only an additional plus in your personal skill's base.
i thought galathea's entry was very clever and and nicely worked out plus the comedy behind gruditche's idea brilliant.
well done to all that entered and thanks to everyone that voted for my picture, your only drawback being that you've now got to put up with my mug shot on the gallerys for some time to come. gary :D

Well done Gary, your score was clearly head and shoulders above everybody else  . I agree with your comments concerning galathea's and Gruditch's entries. They were my top two. A very high standard throughout which is why I was very pleased to get third. I do not have photoshop, so I had to keep it simple :D . Thanks to all that gave me their vote and commiserations to Padfield and Gwen who were in my top four and could easily have sneaked in.

Cheers,
Vince

Well done winners. :D
I am totally in awe of your clever ability to make such interesting and beautiful images.
My personal favourites were geniculata, Gwennie and m_galathea. ( I have tried your quiz Alexander, but can only get 15, and don't want to embarrass myself)
Antonym's "horsefly" gave me a laugh too.

The QoS threw me, but my guess for PBF and Heath were right.
Great quiz. I enjoyed trying. It'll soon be time to photograph some more. I've just seen my first Red Ad of the year. :D :D
