I discovered this little hairy thing while out butterflying:



He was about 2.5" long, any ideas?

Sure thing Wayne is the larva of "The Driker" moth larva which I usually find on the grasses or reeds to the side of a ride walking through a forest.
Apparently it gets it name from the habit of the larva which is attacted to the early morning dew.

Another good shot Wayne.
Went to a moth evening about a week ago and saw 127 different species of moths and of course amongst these was my first sighting of the actual moth.
Strange looking but fascinating moth.

Like your Dark Green photo as well. What a great butterfly just to watch but to get a photo is something else as you found out.
I was lucky enough to film one last year just as another sat beside it so I had two instead of one and that was just about as lucky as it gets.
