Wood White in Derbyshire

Post by BOO »

Just wondered if anyone can help? I have recently read 'The Butterflys of Yorkshire' and it states that the Wood White was unofficially introduced to Whitwell woods near Sherwood forest a few years ago. Would like to know if anybody knows it is still surviving there and if so where is the best place to find it?? Hope someone can help,, thanks Steve

I noticed that this question had never been answered. I've visited the site (Whitwell Woods) twice now. Once in late May 2008, and once again today. Not a sign anywhere. Does anyone know if the colony still exists, and if so, where specifically (grid reference) they are?
