Unidentified butterflies from Korcula Croatia

I recently had a holiday on the island of Korcula, Croatia, where the butterflies were better than I has expected, highlight being two tailed prashas which were firsts for me. Despite searching a couple of good web sites on european butterflies I have a couple of photos that I can not identify. Any suggestions? thanks

The grayling is tree grayling, Neohipparchia statilinus.

The other brown most resembles large wall, Lasiommata maera, to me. It's a form quite unlike those I am used to, but this is a variable butterfly and I think that must be what it is.

I'm often contacted by an enthusiast in Serbia, whose website is here: http://leptiri.beograd.com/. He might know if that is the typical form of large wall in the East.

Hi, Thanks very much for your reply.
Other butterflies seen were Red Admiral, Painted Lady, Wall which were a lot brighter and darker than those I have seen in this country, Silver Wash Fritillary, Meadow Brown, a couple of other browns which were unidentified as they did not settle,Clouded Yellow, Common Blue, Long tailed Blue, Two tailed Pasha, Small Heath, Southern White Admiral and a Copper which I think might be Grecian. Included a picture of a grasshopper which must have been nearly 4 inches long. A few more pictures of varying quality.

Great stuff! I hope you noticed that's a cardinal, not a silver-washed fritillary... As for the copper, on that view alone I couldn't rule out small copper. But I expect you had views of the ups.

If your grasshopper resembled the attached, when seen from the side, then it was the Egyptian Grasshopper, a common circum-mediterranean species.

Hi Misha,
The Grasshopper was on a vine about 7 feet up so the only views I had of it were as in the photo, but from what I can tell it looks like yours.
