Can anyone identify these two skippers photographed in Tuscany last week?

As no one has expressed a view as to what these two are I have resorted to Tolman. The top one seems to be a large skipper although given the photo was taken on 11 September it may be a bit late. The other is a Mediterranean Skipper?

I agree with the top one, but I couldn't begin to guess between Gegenes nostrodamus and G. pumilio for the other one.

Sorry - I missed that post first time around. When I have a sneaky peep at UK Butts at work, and don't get time to look at all the new posts, the ones I don't look at don't appear the next time I go to 'new posts'. :(

I agree with JKT that it would take a brave man to identify the Gegenes with certainty, but I would tend hesitantly towards nostrodamus, based on what can be seen of the underside.

Thanks both.

I don't know if these make the second one any easier to identify they are both the same butterfly.
