I had a nice pic of a Small Tort aber. semi ichnusoides sent to me by an old friend who lives in S. Oxfordshire - has anyone else seen these around?

As Small Torts eggs and pupae are available from suppliers for schools, I did wonder where these were captive bred on a hot window ledge in a school somewhere..... (the aber. is said to be produced by heating the pupa).

I haven't seen one for a few years, Chris. But you're right, this aberration is the result of high temperatures in the pupal stage, to the best of my knowledge.
