I have attempted to send a private message several times but find it has not left my Outbox to the Sent Box. I have attempted to resend them several times but without success, can anyone advise what I'm doing wrong.

I think it only leaves your outbox when the person reads it. At any rate, it is normal for messages to spend a long time in your outbox and doesn't mean you're doing anything wrong or the person won't get it.

Yes - a PM will remain in the Outbox until the receiver picks it up.

Many thanks for the feedback, i was basing it on an e-mail approach, would be in Sent messages when sent but remained in the Outbox if had not been sent.
