Alice Holt Forest

Post by SteveA »

With the 'emperor' season only a few short weeks away I have the intention of visiting Alice Holt Forest from Essex to search for them along with Silver-washed Fritillaries, we unfortunately lack these splendid butterflies in the county. I am aware that there are master trees at Goose Green and Straits Inclosures from reading the various reports but as I have made only one previous visit here, to Lodge Inclosure, and I am unfamiliar as to where the best spots are at both these inclosures.

If some one could assist with some directions in readiness for the Purple days to come I would be very grateful as this prevent me from wandering in the wrong areas.

many thanks

Steve

I have seen PEs in the air at Goose Green- park by the gate just off the road near Bucks Horn Oak off the A325. :) Ian
