Thank you all very much.
I've had a great day pottering about in the garden and watching 'hundreds' of Painted Lady's going over, with more than a few stopping off. As soon as the sun appeared this morning I found 5 in the garden. They have hung around all day and 3 are still in the garden as I write.
To say I've taken a few photo's is an under statement! Got some crackers too. :D
They seem very interested in my teasel. It's not in flower, so does anyone know if they would lay eggs here?
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they will leave me a present on my thistles.

Cheers
Denise

It's 7.45am and I the 3 Painted Lady that were in the garden last night have just appeared from deep within the flower border. Two are sunning themselves and one is already nectaring. 2 females and 1 male. These particular butterflies I photographed at lunch time yesterday (small nicks and general wear) so could these be staying here now? I do hope so.
