Hi All
If its ok to ask a question I would like to ask is it unusual for a Brown Argus not to show the dark central spot on the upperwings and also have some blue marking near the base of the wings?
I know this is a feature of the female Common Blue but the orange spots on the front upperwing are well pronounced.
Thanks cjs.

Yes - very. In fact, I'd say that what you have here is a female Common Blue. There is no blue on a Brown Argus.

None of the aberrations show blue either:

Hi Pete
Thank you very much for your reply and the information.
Your answer was really a confirmation of what I had been thinking but unsure of. It was the presence of the orange spots on the upper forewing that show quite well that left me uncertain.
Much obliged to you.
Best Regards. cjs.
