Cheapest Tamron ever?

I have a Sony rebadged version of this lens. It is consumer grade with a plastic mount and its images are never going to equal those from the Canon 'L' or Sony 'G' ranges but it's nevertheless quite acceptable as a light, easy-to-carry walkaround lens.
I took this speckled wood with it last Spring.

- followed your link and just got a Nikon fit Tamron 55-200mm Macro delivered for £31:50
Like you said - a cheaper consumer lens compared to the 90mm prime macro that I have - but gives a nice range as a general purpose lens to keep on the camera.
Haven't had a chance to see it in operation in daylight - but looks fast-enough in AF mode indoors.
Only goes down to f4, but for the money....(as a mean Yorkshireman) it looks money well spent!

This one has popped up again at College Cameras. Perhaps not such a bargain in Canon mount, but a good deal for Sony and Nikon users:

I still use my Sony rebadged version quite often for outdoor events, and with close focusing at under a meter it'll do a half decent job with larger butterflies as well.
