A First for UK Butterflies!

I was contacted by Mike Mead-Briggs a few days ago, who said:
"I've just been looking at your UK butterflies website and see that amongst the secondary species you mention the Aphrodite fritillary, or at least the one specimen caught in Warwickshire in 1833. I have that actual specimen and wondered if you were interested in adding a picture of it to your web site. I can let you have images of both upper and lower surfaces. Obviously, it is pinned out so I fully understand if you would prefer not to show it. I only have it as it was in an old family collection. "
Anyway - since this is such an historical record and not many people will ever have seen it - I've added Mike's images to the species page at:
