Hi all
I was really surprised to see this Small White this afternoon near Sudbury in Suffolk - I think it's my latest ever sighting of this species! Not so surprised to see the Red Admiral, but it was still a wonderful sight, especially as it was in such great condition - recently emerged I reckon!
Regards
Deano.

Interesting RA there. Sometimes they have little white dots on the red stripes on both forewings. Yours has the dot on one wing but not the other.

Hello eccles
Funny you should mention the one white dot on this Red Admiral, because I only noticed it myself a few hours ago. During the years of rearing this species at home, I've had a mixture of "dotted" specimens and "undotted" specimens, but this is the first time I've ever come across an example with just the one dot!
Regards from Deano.
