oct butterflies

saw a basking red admiral today on my post round in whiby nr ellesmere port, plus a fresh looking comma. the commas are quite common in this area,moreso than small torts now :(

Had a very pleasant afternoon at Aqualate Park. Managed to find 10 Purple Hairstreak eggs and then saw this beauty on the way back. I chased it for about thirty yards when it settled and was very cooperative :D .Image. Only the third one I've seen here all season :(

saw a good conditioned red admiral in a garden yesterday on the way to a beer :D me on the way to a beer not the red admiral, though it would be welcome to a lager :lol:

Keith, there is also St Austell Brewery's "Clouded Yellow" - Tesco sometimes has this available.

The beer has been far easier to find than the butterfly this year. Not sure if that is a :) or a :( however.
