Looks like Small to me - the antennae don't seem 'inky' enough. But I'm happy to be corrected by those more knowledgable than me .

I agree - female small skipper.

Individuals late in the season are often dark, like this one. The broad, dark borders are particularly characteristic. Perhaps it is because they need to absorb more heat now the days are short and cooler.

Thanks, very dark individual as you say.

I did notice that the silver spotted skippers were very dark colurs than usual. they are off corse easier ti identify. This picture was taken on the same day as the others. I thought it may be of interest.
