Nope but I'd be interested to hear of your findings both on the butterfly and the fishing front. Is that North India Mahseer fishing? I have heard that it's damn hard work in the North but a real adventure fishing location!

I was tempted to go for the adventure alone a couple of years back. Be warned I was told by John Wilson (after he'd had a few red wines mind you!) that from his experiences there a couple of years back (the trip I was tempted by) he wouldn't go again as it was too damn hard work (ie very few fish). One guy on that trip did have a real stunning Golden Mahseer around 40lbs. I don't think a lot else was caught in 10 days fishing, and I see that company don't list there as an option any more. It was North India, but I don't recall exactly where now. I'd still be tempted for the sheer adventure though!

I'd be interested to know who you're going out there with?

Golden Mahseer - Idling thro' the channels on NTL I find that 274 is the one where Discovery have their fishing programs. The last couple of days have been on Wild India; the guy fishing (can't remember name) did indeed catch a stunning and large Golden Mahseer in North India. However, most of the fishing (he said) had been ruined by dynamite, netting, etc. The place he was fishing was by a temple and the fish were "protected" . He had special permission as he was doing "catch and release" - not usually applied in India!
I guess it always the same - the demo looks fine, but the reality may be different.........
