Hi
Thought I'd better introduce myself. I'm Ian. I've always enjoyed photography (especially wildlife), but rarely found time to do much. I got my first digital camera a few years ago and found myself liberated. I take so many more photos now than I ever did before. I came across this site after having snapped a couple of butterflies on the buddleia in the back garden one day and was trying to identify them.
With Pete allowing others to be a part of his site it inspired me to go out into the fields nearby and chase anything that flapped. I've since learned so much about butterflies, but also about the local natural environment - I find when looking for something specific (like butterflies) you need to observe nature so much more closely than if you were for example - just rambling.
Just been looking through this years photo competition entries - lots of fabulous shots there!
Great site. Great contributions.
Ian
