Large Moths

I'm fine with butterfly i/d but what are these moths please? South Cambridgeshire.

They are Catocala sp. I'm not going to quess on species without seeing the underwings.

What does the hindwing look like Jack - any colouring? My initial reaction was "Red Underwing", then "Clifden Nonpareil" - but I doubt this is close!

We made them fly (but they soon re landed near each other) - and Red Underwing it has to be. Big beggars aren't they? Which is the larger? Female I would guess.

They certainly are a couple of C. nupta. It comes to vinegary sugar bites and more rarely to light.
