Hi

I've put a handful of photos on the site - hopefully you can see them in the Recent Images section.

Can I ask for a quick bit of help on ID to get me started ?

I think that the unk brown is a male ringlet
i think unk white 1 is a small white
i think unk white 2 and 2a are large whites

your thoughts would be gratefully appreciated.

thanks

Hi Andy,

I think that your unk brown could be a male Meadow Brown.
unk white 1 and 2a are Green-veined Whites,
unk white 2 is a large white.

I'm sure that someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

cheers
Denise

Hi Denise

thanks for the input.

i see what you mean about the meadow brown.
2 and 2a are the same one as far as i remember.
damp flowery meadow would suit as a habitat.

much appreciated.

And interestingly you have a male and female green-veined white. Unk 2 and 2a show a female, with two prominent spots on the forewing. Unk 1 shows a male, with just one.
