Hi Eric
There's a place called Kiplingcotes Chalk Pit, around two and a half miles from Market Weighton, in East Yorkshire - a fair drive for you, but most of it is motorway. You should be able to do it in a couple of hours.
Take the road to Kiplingcotes from Market Weighton. There's a small car park on an old railway line, 300 yards south west of the reserve. It's a Yorkshire Wildlife Trust reserve and on the right day, marbled white can be seen in good numbers, along with common blue and dingy skipper.

Glad you saw them Eric, and looking forward to seeing your pics.
Great minds think alike - I was there on the 10th and saw 10 species, including plenty of marbled white. I've already emailed a few pics to Pete so they should be appearing in my gallery at the next update. As for silver washed fritillary, I'm afraid I can't help. There are certainly none over here in Yorkshire so far as I'm aware.
Dave.
