help with a couple of identifications

I would be grateful if anyone could ID the two butterflies I photgraphed in cornwall last week.
unknown 2 is not a great photo but perhaps its good enough for an ID.

First one I'd hazard a guess at a type of carpet moth. Why not post in on Back-Garden Moths - they enjoy a challenge?!

It's a speckled wood, same as post two above except yours is a male (note the longer slimmer abdomen). The second brood is in full swing now and there are lots of them about, in or near woodland.
