Large Heath

How about this polydama specimen of tullia which I saw today... not extreme, but definitely "lanceolata". :D

Large heath is the only British butterfly I still haven't seen at all, so I am suitably jealous of this lanceolata!! :mrgreen:

However, I am hoping to remedy the situation tomorrow (though not in the UK) and will report back if I get my full deck, and perhaps some piccies to match this one.

I went to Fenn & Whixall mosses in Shropshire this morning and though I saw a couple, couldn't get a photo...

Hi all,I had 11 large heath (i think Davus poor record shot) at Crowle moor Lincs on the 28th June,also 3 Ringlet,20 Large skipper and 5 Small skipper,Speckled wood and Small heath.

That's it! A decisive moment for me - my last remaining UK species seen and photographed! 8) It would have been better to see it in Britain, but I'm not complaining!

Fantastic photo of a Large Heath, I would be happy just for a photo of a Small Heath, can you say what camera you have used.
