I am new to this forum and am wondering about file sizes for attachments.
Should I reduce the resolution before posting any photographs or is that
taken care of automatically?

Yep reduce the resolution before posting, I'm not sure on exact pixels, but I think as long as its no bigger than 800, it should be ok.
