We have a South African staying with us who has just accurately described a Peacock she saw when out for a walk this morning. Then she talked about some spectacular butterflies she has seen in Malawi including some with wingspans (holding hands apart to show how big) in excess of 25 cms. I know this cannot be true but I need to let her down gently.
Can anyone point to an on-line reference for southern African butterflies? What is the biggest likely to be found there?
